THE TINY KITCHEN SPACE WONDER

Our clients love a mix of retro and modern design. The brief was to design and build a kitchen with a fresh and natural look that allows for two people ‘in action’ in their small kitchen space.

During the renovation process of this batch in Raglan, a part of a balcony was enclosed to become the new kitchen. As a result, the distance between the two side walls was narrower than ‘normal’ for a U-shaped kitchen.

The solution was to make right-hand side cabinets less deep than your standard size cabinets so that the couple had enough space in the middle to cook and prep food together.

Our clients chose a combination of NZ Pine plywood with a granite benchtop. The handle-free, tip-on opening fronts and the visible plywood end-grain give this kitchen design a clean and tidy aesthetic while the tone and grain of the whitewashed plywood add warmth a texture.

A large, ceiling-high pantry with pull-out drawers provides a whole lot of storage for all those groceries.

AN ELEGANT BLACK AND NATURAL PLYWOOD KITCHEN

This House is located in countryside of Tauranga. With its black exterior it blends in beautifully into its sourrounding landscape.

The interior is white and light with an open roof structure and beautiful polished conrete floors.

Our clients asked us to build a kitchen that blends into its souroundings of white and black with punches of colour. We planned this kitchen carefully to create a functional yet generous looking space .

The combinations of materials and textures and the clean lines give this kitchen an elegant aesthetic. The NZ Pine plywood adds warmth to this minimalistic design.

PLYWOOD KITCHEN FOR AN ECLECTIC HOME

When our clients talked to us about their kitchen renovations, they have asked us if we could use Matai floorboards that they have taken out of the house during their renovations. They wanted to combine old and new. As a result of their idea, the Benchtop is a combination of new plywood with a top layer of the recycled Matai. Our clients specifically asked us to expose the edges of both materials.

The fronts are made of NZ Pine plywood with simple cut-out handles.

A black toe kick gives the cabinets a slight floating effect and adds a nice contrast to the overall look.

WHITE AND BAMBOO - A SOPHISTICATED AND RELAXED MIX

This modern kitchen renovation combines an elegantly white kitchen with Bamboo. Together they build the backdrop for our client’s colourful collection of favourite pieces.

The sleek Bamboo benchtop not only adds warmth to this monochromatic kitchen. It is also a very sustainable choice. This Moso bamboo is grown and harvested in sustainably managed bamboo forests and plantations.
